NSVR28 - Multi-Deck Transporter

NSVR28 is about using multi-deck vehicle transporters when carrying out routine collection and deliveries of cars, car derived vans and light commercial vehicles.  This module covers the safety requirements associated with the use of multi-deck vehicle transporters and the basic loading and unloading procedures.  It must be noted that; familiarisation training with the specific model of vehicle that participants are using in their role must also be completed by the company operating the vehicle.

• Health and safety requirements applicable to the use of multi-deck vehicle transporters
• Variations and performance features of multi-deck vehicle transporters
• Equipment and vehicle checks required with multi-deck vehicle transporters
• Calculating the winch power required using resistance calculations
• Procedure for driving and winching a vehicle on/off whilst loading/unloading
• Transporting procedures and potential hazards

Practical Outcome
• The participant will be able to demonstrate the preparation, loading and unloading of a vehilce using a multi-deck vehicle transporter.  Participants are also required to manoeuvre the multi-deck vehicle transporter and casualty as directed by the instructor/assessor
