VR12 - Ancillary Equipment (heavy vehicle recovery)

Description

VR12 covers using a commercial vehicle tow pole or other types of ancillary equipment and the safety requirements associated with the use of tow poles and other types of ancillary equipment, when carrying out routine removal procedures on commercial vehicles between 3500kg and 44000kg GVM, where a recovery cannot take place using standard recovery vehicles. The duration of this module is dependent on the number of ancillary items trained.

• Operating procedures when towing using a tow pole or when using other types of ancillary equipment

Practical Outcome
• The participant will be able to demonstrate the preparation of a casualty, the correct fitting and removal of a tow pole or other ancillary equipment
